Which rooms work for Easter with the family

Four rooms work for mixed groups — two of them from age eight, so kids, parents and grandparents can play together:

• The Witch (Bogenhausen, 8+, level 2) — a lonely hut, strange potions, and the witch coming back soon. Fairy tale rather than horror, comfortably doable in 60 minutes.
• The Chinese Box (Bogenhausen, 8+, level 3.5) — Far Eastern magic without a single shock moment, wheelchair accessible. The right room when grandparents join in.
• Seven Kingdoms (Old Town, 14+, level 5) — for families with older kids who have played a few rooms before. A fantasy epic, our most demanding room.
• The Castle Cell (Bogenhausen, 14+, level 4.5) — an inquisition dungeon, dark setting, but no jump scares.

Up to age 11 an adult plays along in the room and counts towards the group size. From 12 to 15 kids may play on their own with a parental consent form; in rooms rated 14+ only from 14, and 12 and 13-year-olds play there with an adult in the room. Not sure which room fits? Weatherproof — the real advantage at Easter

Easter falls somewhere between late March and mid-April, which is exactly the season where you plan a barbecue in the morning and stand in the rain by lunchtime. Both locations are entirely indoors: always dry, never windy, and the slot is fixed weeks in advance without consulting a weather app.

If the sun does play along, there is an outdoor alternative: at the Wagon Game Show you pull a wagon full of buzzers and game gear into the park and compete in nine mini-games for three hours — 4 to 12 people per wagon.

Big families: up to 23 people at once

When the whole extended family is around at Easter, it will not fit into one room — depending on the room, 2 to 7 people play together. Instead you play in several rooms starting no more than 30 minutes apart: up to 23 people in parallel in Bogenhausen, up to 17 in the old town — and just ask if the family gathering is bigger. You arrive together, play separately and compare times afterwards. In our experience that is exactly the part that gets discussed over Easter dinner.

Handy when the group splits anyway: the kids with one parent into The Witch, the teenagers into Burgverlies — and a second round afterwards if you like, starting 15 minutes after the first one ends.

Slots over the Easter holidays

We are open on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday: old town Monday to Thursday and Sunday 11 am–11 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am–midnight; Bogenhausen 10 am–9 pm, Friday and Saturday until 11 pm. The online calendar shows live availability for both locations.

The holidays themselves go first, especially the afternoons. Plan two to three weeks ahead for a family slot; if you prefer it quieter, take a morning slot.

What it costs

The price is per team, not per head, and it is the same in every room at both locations: €88 for two, €114 for three, €136 for four, €150 for five, €168 for six, €182 for seven. The bigger the group, the less each person pays — with seven that is €26 each.

No surcharges are added to the list prices — not on holidays, in the evening or at weekends. Children up to 11 need an accompanying adult in the room, and that adult counts towards the group size. Everything about pricing is on the prices page.

Every mission you play comes with a small gift for your team, handed over on site — we won't say what it is. Only this much: it fits in a pocket, and once you have one, you'll want the next.
